Adult Written by theblanchedsoldier February 23, Watched every episode 50 times Really great show. If you like Sherlock Holmes and are familiar with the stories, you'll get hooked. I think it would be good for kids to watch this if they're able to stand 90 minutes of mostly no exciting action because it might motivate them to be as smart as Sherlock.

With all his deductions and quick intellect, you cannot help but feel in awe - kind of like John Watson. I have absolutely no issue with this show, for kids and teens alike. Well, except for the long hiatuses. If you become addicted to this show like I did, don't be surprised if you find yourself waiting two years for the next episode to come. Sherlock is perfect for that, it's a series that clearly addresses murders, ie blood, frightening things like supernatural illusions and relationships nudity scenes.

The first episode of the second season showed a woman nude except for her arms covering the sensitive areas.

This scene went on for several minutes. The woman was also shown wearing lingerie and was a dominatrix. There are references to her work. There is violence in both seasons. Read my mind. Adult Written by rivkie November 30, Amazing update of the classic but not for little kids This is a great tv show. Benedict Cummerbatch does an amazing job playing Sherlock, the dialogue is great and funny, and the plotlines are also great. However, it does have some disturbing elements -- murder, suicide, just plain cruelty, etc.

Not for the little kids, but awesome fun for everyone else. Positive Messages. Adult Written by ebbatu July 16, Amazing, exciting show! This show is very addicting and you quickly find yourself getting into the plot. If you are concerned about sexual themes I recommend you skip the first episode of season 2 however, as it contains a dominatrix that shows herself nude, uses her tools on Sherlock and tries seducing him.

Adult Written by NojEsco August 5, Intellect Wins the Day in this Series Recommended for All although specifically Recommended for older kids and above Sherlock is a fantastic series that plays more like a fast-release collection of movies that all exist in a canonical succession.

Each story is extremely clever, from the interesting mysteries, to the cryptic yet engaging clues, to the human interactions, be it the motivations of those in question for their actions, to just the banter between Sherlock and the others.

If there's one major reason I recommend this series for older children is not because it stimulates the brain with its intricate machinations, but it also shows the value of intellect.

Sherlock only wins because he is smarter than those around him, and this is despite the fact that his allies are all smart as well, and his enemies are sometimes brilliant. The other reason I recommend this to older kids is because there is a well-woven theme on how Intellect is not everything; there's a somewhat cliche but nonetheless effective line in the opening episode: "Sherlock Holmes is a great man Mr Watson, and if we're lucky, one day, he might just be a good one.
