Why is happy wars rated t

It has the unique ability to make me feel like a little kid again gaming just for the sake of having some fun and goofing around with some friends. The maps, although not crisp in terms of graphics, are each designed with unique features making having an understanding of your surroundings surprisingly important in the battles. With all that being said, my favorite aspect of the game is the equipment the playable characters can use.

There's something oddly entertaining about watching a little warrior with an opened can for a helmet ride into battle on the back of a giraffe. The equipment is odd and quirky but manages to pull it off well. Happy Wars will never be that top of the line game that everyone wants to play, but is certainly worth a try if you can handle not taking every game you play too seriously.

My only other major complaint is when the mode is something other than Castle Defense. As an achievement hunter, my main goal when playing Happy Wars is to get the achievements. Therefore, the other game modes are of little to me in comparison, and my overall happiness decreases every time I see that Castle Defense is not available. Item Mechanics The item mechanics that is, item leveling up, buffs, and other mechanics like "evolving" and pushing an item to level 15 are rather monotonous and grindy.

Prior to continuous updates in the early stages of the game, the item level up and other miscellaneous functions were much simpler, and therefore felt more in line with the simplistic idea of the game. However, because the game's item system is solely based on random number generation aside from past events, which contained rewards for specific items but was still based on random chance.

Because of the game's focus on RNG, I am naturally very unhappy and this contributes to even more decline in happiness. I would much prefer any sort of system that rewards players based on their ability to do things such as complete various quests, reach a certain rank, or other variable that isn't rooted in pure randomness to achieve higher tier weaponry and armor.

However, I understand that it's a free-to-play and partially pay-to-win game, and while I will remain unhappy because of this system, it does make sense that the nature of Happy Wars is an RNG environment.

Overall, I don't care for the item system or the RNG methods of distributing items, and the game's "item level up" and "buff" mechanics are unnecessarily complex. Server Stability This game, on the Xbox One version, runs on a barrel of potatoes somewhere in the midwest. The Xbox servers run fairly better, except that they're shutting down in late , so after the deadline players' only option will be to lag out of every game imaginable on the Xbox One version.

The game "supports" up to 30 players, but in reality supports up to about six. Achievements This is TrueAchievements, so I might as well give some thoughts regarding the achievement list. The original provided with the launch of the game wasn't too bad, even a bit too easy. It did require playing the entire story mode, which as I described before lowered my happiness, but other than that, it wasn't anything to complain about.

With the first title update, we saw levels of creativity and diversity skyrocket, with extremely fun and Happy tasks such as "Reach rank 50", "Use this ability times", and "Get kills with this class". In short, my happiness level took a nosedive in discovering the new XBLA title had soon become a grindfest. The second title update wasn't nearly as bad, though Toylogic ran out of ideas after about two achievements and decided to pack in more "Use this ability 50 times".

Regarding the Xbox One version, the initial list featured a lot of repeat achievements from the version that luckily transferred upon completion of one match, but also features a very Unhappy achievement tasking players to achieve in-game medals. To make up for it, though, there are some rather easy ones with high ratios, presumably because everyone is unhappy and does not want to reinstall "long forgotten pieces of shit because of new achievements".

In conclusion, I ultimately feel manipulated. I was promised Happy Wars, and all I got was chronic unhappiness and probably depression. I do not recommend playing Happy Wars, for gameplay or for achievements, if you wish to remain a happy individual. Showing most recent comments. View all comments. Quick match is terrible and ruined by the same people that play nothing else which is just sad Posted by LGS I Hitman on 25 Mar 18 at Ha ha awesome review. Played it on where it was referred to as "Crappy Chores".

Will never play the One version, especially when it seems the servers are so terrible. Posted by TwistedTB on 27 Mar 18 at Sums this game up nicely! Waiting for 20 mins for a game to start, then having it crash 2 mins from the end was the final straw for me.
