Fran apparently warned them multiple times, but they didn't listen. Shortly after the series gave the fans what they wanted, the show was canceled. Given how many '90s reboots the entertainment industry has been churning out, fans have been chomping at the bit for news about a Nanny reboot's potential — potential that is very quickly becoming a reality.
Drescher addressed a potential reboot and rumors about cast members and castings and said it would be a prequel to "The Nanny" we all know and love. While Drescher didn't mention any storylines, she said she could come back as Sylvia, the mother:. I could play Sylvia, the mom. And John Leguizamo could play [Fran's dad], Morty. Thanks to fans who demanded that Cardi B star in the new version, Drescher met with the singer's team last month to talk about the show's benefits.
Although Cardi B is yet to confirm if she's interested or not, Drescher said she is working hard to secure the fellow NewYorker for the role. After Cardi's success in the film "Hustlers," the public has fallen in love with her acting. The rapper turned actress has a seemingly long acting career ahead of her, and Drescher wants to be the next to work with her. In an interview, she detailed her ideas to have Cardi on the reboot of the show.
Together, they canvass their respective hometowns of New York City, Atlanta, and Chicago with guest judges. She is the show's most reliable and entertaining persona with her flamboyant outfits and voices. One thing is certain; she is both gifted on-screen and behind a microphone. She is set to star in "Uninsured," a new sitcom in development for NBC. Despite this news, most Drescher's fans are most intrigued by what she is planning for the reboot of the show they came to know and love.
In the so-nostalgic year of , with so many networks focused on reviving popular 90s TV shows, The Nanny could still re-emerge on the small screens. Besides, Fran Drescher doesn't rule out the possibility of reprising her iconic role of Fran Fine. But Fran Drescher was quick to add something else. She's clear that she's not going to jump on just any The Nanny reboot script. Instead, she's going to be picky. Fran Drescher stressed that she wouldn't star in a Nanny reboot just to pocket huge paychecks.
When "The Nanny" wrapped up in , everything seemed to have ended like a fairytale. Maxwell Sheffield and Fran Fine were married with two kids of their own and heading off to California to start a new life. To top it all off, the family's delightfully witty butler Niles had just gotten hitched to his longtime rival C. After watching the chemistry between both couples throughout the series, it was the ending fans all thought they wanted — but as co-creator and star Fran Drescher, 60, has since admitted, it ended up killing the show.
In fact, given her way, Drescher would have starred in a very different series finale. She explained , "I would have written a great season finale [ But unfortunately, it wasn't her call. Despite recent talk of a "Nanny" reboot, Drescher is very wary about how it could even work.
It's a sentiment echoed firmly by her former co-star Daniel Davis. Image Credit: Wikimedia Commons. During the duration of the show and afterward, Fran was a fashion icon. Niles was famous for his quick quips and one-liners, and a lot of that wit was actually inspired by the actor himself. And because I have a wicked side to my humour, they picked up on it. During its six-year run, The Nanny boasted an impressive catalogue of guest appearances — from Whoopi Goldberg, Elton John, Bette Midler, Jay Leno to Joan Collins — but there was one star that had the whole cast starstruck.
They treated me more like a prop than like a human being. If I can be of further assistance, please let me know. Re: The Nanny Reunion by hippiegal Member since May I hated that Daniel Davis was not in the Nanny Reunion. I watched it this evening, and even though it was great seeing all the actors, it was just not the same without Mr.
I kept looking for him to show up, and I didn't appreciate the teasing they did to us fans. Especially the "Danny Bonaducci" bit. I understand he is busy with Broadway, but he could have called or sent a videotape of himself saying hi to everyone.
Well maybe the y will have another reunion someday and hopefully he will make it. Re: The Nanny Reunion by katiyakis. Member since December I was so sad to see that Daniel Davis was not apart of the Nanny Reunion!!!! That was such a letdown - he was one my favorite characters.
I also didn't like the Danny Bonaducci guy; it was not the same. I am happy to hear that he he is doing so well on Broadway and I wish him the best of luck. But I was really looking forward to seeing him on the Reunion show! Re: The Nanny Reunion by kellerwilliam Re: The Nanny Reunion by betsysgirl. Im so glad he isn't. Its hard to believe he is not a Brit Kudos to him for making me laugh every day on the Nanny.
It wouldn't be the same without him. It is funny how many people you across who think that Daniel Davis is dead! My aunt thought the same thing when she saw he wasn't on the show. I would hope that if something did happen to Daniel Davis, we would know as soon as possible!
As I said before, I was so upset to not see him on the reunion Instead of saying that Daniel couldn't make it, Fran said he was running late when he was really in New York.
That was really disappointing. It's like the reunion needed some spice it needed Niles! I would not have mind if Niles could make fun of C. Although the reunion wasn't that bad I mean, it showed the rest of the cast and they had their laughs and they showed us some bloopers and stuff but I really wish Niles would've been there and I never really expected Fran to be the producer of the reunion for profit to be the producer of something else.
Not bad, but not great! Nanny Reunion britishdaughter 17 May All of the comments I read about the Nanny Reunion were true. I would love to see yet another Nanny reunion with Daniel Davis included. I was so worried that Fran Dresher was no longer speaking with Daniel because of his absence.
It was only right that everyone attend when schedules meshed. It was "Niles'" comments and quips that made the show ever better. I would love to see a more "laid back" reunion. Regards, BritishDaughter.
